More an action blockbuster than a horror squelcher, it contains spectacular crowd scenes that have a Hieronymus Bosch quality, but the film lacks strong meat - of the emotional and bloody zombie-cannibal sort.Based on the fantastic novel by Max Brooks, "World War Z" comes to the screen big, being the most expensive zombie film ever made with a ridiculous number of zombies... and the great Brad Pitt. Hopefully the quality of the script matches the ambition and scope of the project.
I originally had low expectations for this movie (even as a huge fan of the Walking Dead, I'm feeling "zombie-fatigued"). But the idea that zombies are both fast and "swarm" (like ants crawling on top of each other) to climb a huge wall is a unique twist that could make this movie fun to watch.World War Z is just not quite creative or original enough.
